AeroDesign West

Also known as the "Heavy Lift Competition", this SAE-sponsored event challenges college students to design and build an R/C model to lift the most weight possible with a 0.60-sized glow engine. Sure, they're messy, but this is a great way to get university credit for playing with model airplanes!

AeroDesign 2000 - ramblings on what it's like to be a 2nd-year student on a team with 4th year leaders.
AeroDesign 2002 - homepage for the 2002 Calgary team, captained by yours-truely. Lots of information on building with                             composites, much of which is equally-applicable to sailplanes.

Projects On The Go

Restoring a 1/4 Scale Minimoa - a photo diary of the restoration work that has been going into getting a 4m Minimoa
back in the air. Also intended as a resource for those looking to learn how to repair
balsa and plywood models, since ARFs are killing people's ability to build (and
                                               hence repair) their own models.

Speed 400 Pylon Racing - a new S400 league was started here in town recently. Should be good fun, and good training                                           for F5D for those that might be interesting in competing down the road.
