Chaper One
I stood in the doorway for a moment watching her sleep.  I had never seen anything so beautiful in my life; her hair spilled over to the left of her face in thick dark curls, and her bare shoulders took on a golden hue in the bright morning light.  A slight smile tugged at my lips, and my stomach filled with soft butterflies that were beating their wings against its walls. I loved the girl lying there, but I had never told anyone.  It was my secret, and I swore I’d take it to my grave because if her boyfriend ever found out, I wouldn’t survive.

Taking a deep breath, I moved closer to the bed and knelt down at her side.  I could hear her softly breathing; and it made my knees go weak.  Slowly, I reached my hand out to touch that amazing hair, but before I could get to it her eyes gently opened and she smiled up at me.  “Good morning!” Her voice was sleepy, and her gorgeous blue eyes looked up at me lazily, making me feel like I was the only one in her world; the way I wanted to be.

I grinned, “Morning! Did you sleep well?” She nodded and stretched her arm out to give me a hug.  I wrapped her up in my arms, and nestled my head into the crook of her neck; God she smelled good!

When we let go, she sat up, yawned and rubbed her eyes.  “You’re here early aren’t you?” She said looking at the clock.  “It’s only 8:00, and you’re notorious for sleeping late.  Who are you and what did you do with my Zac?”

My face lit up into a huge stupid smile and I shrugged, “Alien spaceship came and took him away.  I’m Zork, Mork’s cousin and I’m here to study life on this strange backward planet.” I held up my hands bending my ring fingers down, “Nanu-nanu!”

She shoved me back a bit and laughed,  “Well Zork it’s nice to meet you! Tell me, where’s my Taylor?” The mere mention of my brother’s name shot me back down to reality.  I was goofing off with his girlfriend, in their bedroom.

I sighed heavily and hoped that she hadn’t noticed the sudden change in me.  “He had to go get eggs, and asked me to do the honors of waking you up.”

She grinned, “Well it certainly was a nice change.  Normally I get ‘Libby, wake up!’ or, ‘Babe, you’re gonna be late’.  He needs to understand that I love it when someone’s gentle about these things.”

I nodded, wanting to tell her that I’d be gentle about everything.  She’d never have to worry about me not being sensitive about her needs; but I kept it to myself.  “ Maybe you should tell him.  He’s got a lot on his mind right now, and if he knew how you felt, it’d probably help.”

She smiled slightly and hopped out of bed, “The world needs more Zachary Hanson’s.” Her comment caused that stupid smile to come over my face again. “Anyway, help yourself to the cereal; I know you’re starving.  I’m going to go take a shower and get dressed.”

My eyebrows lifted and my smile broadened, “Can I join you?” Taylor might be her boyfriend, but he wasn’t around to hear that which meant that I wouldn’t be clobbered.

Her face lit up and she grinned wildly, “Maybe…” She came closer to me and whispered in my ear making my hair stand on end, “But only in your dreams.”  With that she kissed my cheek, giggled and left me standing there, kicking myself for  letting Taylor get to her first.
