The Tagua Art Collection A selection of handmade figurines craved on natural tagua nuts. Tagua or corozo is a nut obtained from a native palm tree of Ecuador, which due to its color, hardness, weight and durability, similar to animal ivory, is also known as "vegetal ivory". |

Some of these craved figurines, represent Ecuadorian native fauna as the birds and mammals of the rain forest and Galapagos Islands. The figurines are packed in recycled paper & cartoon boxes, decorated with sundry flowers and leaves. |
The heigh of a tagua figurine is between 2' and 7', and its weight is between 50g and 200g., according with each design. |
