AUTISM
I am the mother of a six year old girl with Autism.  I do not claim to be an expert in Autism, and I am not sure if what I do know on the subject is always valid, so I can only speak about my personal experiences with my daughter.  She doesn't like to hug and cuddle and doesn't make eye contact.  When she does come to be cuddles instead of coming straight at me, like a child without autism will do, she backs up to me, as if to not be forced to make eye contact with me.  I will usually flip her around and cuddle her like a non autistic child prefers, and she has come to expect this.  She is very good at playing by herself, in fact her favorite thing to do is peal stickers.  She doesn't care if they are strawberry shortcake stickers, or just plain white address labels, she goes after everything.  It's pretty adorable to watch.  Recently we had to put her on some medication as she was screaming a great deal.  Brandon seems to be very tolerant of her little oddities.  He is able to share nicely with her.  Let's hope it continues into adolescent.  HEHE!!!  I have added some links for various autism websites.  If this interests you, the by all means visit these sites.
