Sunny Days Rescue And Sanctuary | ||||
Sunny Days Rescue And Sanctuary (SDRAS) is a one-of a kind operation. We run two seperate programs. Our rescue program is for animals that are adoptable and awaiting adoption to a forever home. They are kept in foster homes to avoid the stress of shelter life in a cage. We try to keep adoptable animals in homes where they will be most comfortable. For instance, a bird that is afraid of dogs would be fostered in a dog-free home. While in our rescue program all animals are updated on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, tested for common diseases/illnesses (heartworm, FIV, Feline leukemia, etc), and given lots of love. We start basic obedience, and any behavioral or health issues are taken care of. We use only positive reinforcement. Our sanctuary program is for animals that have been deemed as unadoptable. There are many reasons why an animal may be considered unadoptable. Some have health problems, some have severe/incurable behavioral issues, and some are just not suitable as family pets. The animals in our sanctuary program are welcome to stay for the rest of their lives, and are kept in permanent foster homes whenever possible. We always try to keep animals as comfortable as possible, so in some cases, a home environment is not suitable. For instance, feral cats are allowed to live their lives in a safe, heated barn. The animals in our sanctuary program are spayed/neutered, kept current on vaccinations, and any medical or behavioral issues are treated or managed. We do not euthenize unless an animal is in severe, untreatable pain, or is a danger to the people who care for the animal. Donations are always welcome as we go through food and supplies very quickly! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, concerns, or if any of our links are not working properly.
