          Meet My Mom

She has left me a legacy..a deep desire to further her family knowlege.
.. She lives on in my mind, tho thirty five years gone (update: 44 years in 2008)..
She left footprints on my heart.
and I will never forget her.

A song by her daughter and the grand daughter she never saw..This will stay only one day... Nov 12, 2008.... For Momma...

Ida Pearl Dryman was born Aug 13, 1900 in the now non-exhistant town of Froza, Texas in Limestone County. Her parents were John Lafayette (Johnny) and Adeline Eugenia (Gener)Johnson Dryman. Pearl was Gena's fourth child. She had a daughter, Irene Florence, in June 8, 1894, and two infant sons, Jimmy and Joe, had been born and died. Two years after Pearl's birth, Jesse Lee, her only living brother, was born.

          PEARL DRYMAN
Pearl married Samuel Milton Kaster (Sam) in 1916. Their first child, Irma Christine Kaster, was born March 6, 1918 and died February 8,1919. Pearl had a hard time in the birth of her second child, Samuel William Kaster on July 15, 1920-July 18, 1920. She never got to see the baby and was not even alert at the time of his funeral. Not being able to attend his funeral was a hurt that Pearl carried with her all her life. Alma Loretta Kaster was born October 1, 1921 at Camp Creek, in Robertson County, TX. Her birth certificate wasn't filled out correctly and she is named ALICE Loretta legally. December 1, 1928 her son Milton Lynn Kaster was born in Huntsville, Walker County, TX. Pearl and Sam divorced in the early thirties and Pearl was a single mom for many years.

PEARL KASTER AND LORETTA AT THE TRINITY RIVER

February 2, 1944, Pearl Kaster married James Wesley Tims in a ceremony after prayer meeting. The were married at the East Huntsville Baptist Church parsonage by Brother Mayes. March 4, 1945 her last child, Jimmie Louise Tims, was born.

She was a hard worker who could do repairs on her home like a man. She was very self sufficient. She never asked any help from anyone..the only one that was ever hired was a likable black man that I only know as *Lofton* who had a horse and every year he would come and break up the garden place. She loved her vegetable garden and her flowers, (old maids, bachelor buttons, roses, you name it, she liked it), she was a wonderful cook, she was a Christian and a member of the East Huntsville Baptist Church, Huntsville Texas, she loved her children and grandchildren,...... all of them, the ones that had her blood and the ones that shared her heart.

Ida Pearl Dryman Kaster Tims was my mother. I am Jimmie Lou, or Jimmie, as I am called now..or my internet and karaoke friends call me my chosen screen name of Huny or Sunnye. She died in my home. She fell asleep November 12, 1964 and during the night she joined my dad. Jim Tims had died May 5, 1959.

The following lyrics are to a beautiful song by Josh Groban. I think initially it was written as a "love song" for a lost sweetheart, but it also can encompass the love for another precious person, in this case, it makes me think of my Mama......Enjoy...."TO WHERE YOU ARE" by Josh Groban.

          "To Where You Are"

          Who can say for certain
          Maybe you're still here
I feel you all around me
          Your memory's so clear

          Deep in the stillness
          I can hear you speak
          You're still an inspiration
          Can it be (?)
          That you are my
          Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
          Beyond the distant star
          I wish upon tonight
          To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you're there
          A breath away's not far
          To where you are

          Are you gently sleeping
          Here inside my dream
          And isn't faith believing
          All power can't be seen

          As my heart holds you
          Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
          'Cause you are my
          Forever love
          Watching me from up above

          And I believe
          That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

          Fly me up
          To where you are
          Beyond the distant star
          I wish upon tonight
          To see you smile
          If only for awhile
          To know you're there
          A breath away's not far
          To where you are

          I know you're there
          A breath away's not far
          To where you are
