By The Lake...

My heart smiles when I see you there

Walking by the lake greeting the new day

With swans and birds beautifying your way

And the morning breeze kissing your face

Sitting on a bench beneath a palm tree

Reading a book about love conquering it all

I glance at you between the lines without being aware

Of how much your presence molds the written word

You pass by me and smile in a such a way

That blows my mind and melts my being away

Distracted by you, I can't wait till you make another turn

And pass by me one more time and smile again and again

A morning of smiles, each one nicer than the next

Keeps my tender heart rejuvenated, oh I must be blessed

For they penetrate my soul and gladly makes it soar

Reaching the peak of love conquering the book's overall goal

You hold a warm and special place in my life now

That shall remain vacant forever without your smiles

Lost in thought as you pass by, I have learned to love you

I have no choice, you are what mornings are all about.
