EMI-Odeon - A bit of history

Odeon was one of the oldest record factories in Brazil. Its activities began between 1910-1920, and it had gread prominence in the Brazilian recording history.

In the 60's, by the time the Beatles were noticed, Odeon was already the official EMI representative in Brazil, and since the beginning, made all Beatles' records issued here.

In the early 70's, Odeon was acquired by the EMI group, and its name changed to EMI-Odeon. Cassettes came that time.

The Brazilian branch of the EMI Group changed its name recently to EMI Music Brasil. It is still one of the Brazilian largest recording industries and represents several foreign labels, as Capitol, SBK, Chrysalis, and, of course, MPL, Parlophone and Apple.

Recently, a website in Portuguese presenting their catalog was launched.
