Danny's recently starred in a new film, "Endgame", which premiered at a French film fest in October 2001. It's an independant Brit flick, and very Speak Like a Child-esque by the look of the reviews, so may be hard to trace, but I think it'll be well worth searching for!! See link below. BIOGRAPHICAL BIT! Well, Daniel was born in York on May the 12th 1976, but then brought up on a council estate in South London. He won a scholorship to Emanual Public School, but hated it so much he left and went to theatre school instead! The theatre schools he went to were Corona Stage School and Ravenscourt Theatre School. Daniel got married (yes, oh yes! Try not to cry!) at 18, and in February 1997 he became a father to Isobel Autumn. But...sadly, in August the same year Daniel split up from his wife. And to all you horrible people who are thinking "Good! Now he can marry ME", I'm ashamed of you! Daniel also has another daughter called Jessica Lauren. Daniel is very into martial arts, and he is/was/used to be a bit of a surfer!
THE BORROWERS
As this was the first thing I saw Daniel in, and I love the books anyway, this is one of my favourite things that Danny's been in. He plays Spiller, who is an "outdoors Borrower", and very heroic! His hobby seems to be rescuing the Clock family, and helping them out when they least expect it. One thing makes The Borrowers very unrealistic, and that is that the first other Borrower Arrietty meets is young, male, gorgeous and single. It doesn't happen!!
I have seen two of his appearances on this, playing two very different blokes. In "True Colours" he was David Leigh, a languages student who hung around with a dodgy crowd, and takes the blame for beating up someone,even though it probably wasn't him, and the police know it probably wasn't him. He was completely different in "Age Gaps" - he played Tommy Newsome (another student)who in his spare time worked as a "detective" for various girls parents to see if they were taking drugs. He did this by chatting them up in nightclubs! There is always something about Daniel's hair when he's on The Bill. In True Colurs he had DREADLOCKS (scary!) and in Age Gaps it's dyed a coppery colour (nice!)
