1969 - Mick Box and David Byron formed Spice. 1970 - Signed by Manager, Gerry Bron, changed name to Uriah Heep, recruited Ken Hensley, released "Very 'Eavy Very 'Umble" with bassist Paul Newton and drummers Alex Napier and Nigel Olson. 1971 - Release of "Salisbury" and "Look At Yourself". Paul Newton replaced by Mark Clark who in turn was replaced by Gary Thain. Drummer Keith Baker joined to be replaced by Iain Clark who was replaced by Lee Kerslake. 1972 - Release of "Demons and Wizards" and Magician's Birthday". 1973 - Release of "Uriah Heep Live" and "Sweet Freedom". 1974 - Release of "Wonderworld". 1975 - Release of "Return To Fantasy" and "Best Of Uriah Heep". Gary Thain replaced by ex Roxy Music/King Crimson bassist John Wetton. 1976 - Release of "High & Mighty" followed by sacking of David Byron and departure of John Wetton. Trevor Bolder and John Lawton joined. 1977 - Release of "Firefly" and "Innocent Victim". 1978 - Release of "Fallen Angel". 1979 - John Lawton and Lee Kerslake replaced by vocalist John Sloman and drummer Chris Slade. 1980 - Release of "Conquest". Ken Hensley replaced by Gregg Dechert. 1981 - Trevor Bolder left to join Wishbone Ash. Gregg Dechert, Chris Slade and John Sloman sacked. Bob Daisley (Bass), John Sinclair (Keyboards), Lee Kerslake (Drums) and Pete Goalby (Vocals) joined. 1982 - Release of "Abominog". 1983 - Release of "Head First". Trevor Bolder re-joined; replacing Bob Daisley. 1985 - Signed to C.B.S. Release of " Equator". |
