Terror Squad member Cuban Link has written and dedicated his song "Flowers For The Dead" to Pun. Cuban's deput solo album "24 Karat" is expected to drop in Summer 2000. The album has guest appearances from Noreaga, Kool G. Rap, Raekwon, Fat Joe, and Wyclef Jean
He's "Not a Player", but this Puerto Rican wordsmith
sure has been workin' out systems, and mix tapes the world over.
Born Christopher Carlos Rios, Pun's deput album, Capitol Punishment, gave heads a formal
introduction to this South Bronx native's lyrical skills.
However, as Fat Joe's protege, Pun can be heard on Joey Crack's
Jealous One's Envy(1996). He also appeared on 1997's party hit "Off the
Books" with The Beatnuts, and Cuban Linx.
Previously known as Big Moon Dog, Pun grew up in Soundview in the Bronx, New York. While although songs like "Not a Player" don't suggest it, Pun is a married man with three children.
Signed with Loud Records, Pun credits his mentor Fat Joe with helping him break into the Hip-Hop game. The two met around Joe's mom's place in the Bronx. Determined to meet Mr. Cartagena himself, Big Pun, strategically placed himself near Joe's building. Impressed with Pun's skills, Joey recruited him into his crew the Terror Squad, and the rest is history.
