This page is dedicated to Alvin Lee who is and will always be my ultimate guitar hero.Without a doubt Alvin Lee of Ten Years After has got to be the most recognised user of the Gibson ES335. His performance on his sticker covered 1959 "dot neck" Cherry Red 335 used at the 1969 Woodstock concert, catapulted him and his band into international stardom. Alvin also uses later model 335`s, one being "Big Red which is a rock landmark today. He also performed at the 1970 Isle of Wight festival playing a sunburst ES 345 model. My choice to collect the entire Gibson ES thinline series guitars, is a direct result of the inspiration I received from Alvin Lee and Ten Years After through my growing years and the love for the ES335 guitar.

YES!!! Gibson have released a replica Custom Shop of “Big Red” I had the great pleasure in being able to get into the Gibson booth at the NAMM show (which was by appointment only) and view, plus play the guitar. It was incredible and the quality is superb. I was shown around by a very nice Gibson representative. He told me that a limited edition of 50 would be made available followed by a normal production model and the price would be around $6000.00. A truly wonderful collectable.
