- WAV-219K… and so this brings me to my 2nd CD "The Return To October". Like my first CD "My Emotions" it's a journal that's part personal and written about the world & people around me. Similar in ways about the trials and tribulations of love and life, friends, family & peers I share the world with … things that could take a lifetime, a year, a week, a day to experience.
My Love
is based on the simple things that start a romance and should carry you through the end of one. The material things should be pretty much meaningless.Wonderful You
is a personal Diary about my marriage and reflections of the years gone by with the wife & kids. How time has gone by quick!Discretion
is about how fast a relationship can fall apart with a few wrong decisions. I think we've seen it all around us.All of A sudden
is how love & life can change at the drop of a hat. One day, nothing the next, the world. You're the song I Sing
is how a woman can build a music-mans life as the components of music build a song.Isle Of Dreams
is a place where we all would love to take a lover! But does it really exist !!??Countin' On You
is a fun little piano piece I love to play, as my father would call it "Dime Store Music" reminds me of a park setting! Can't Pretend
or as my friend Larry Stanley calls it "Doom & Gloom" Ha. A mid life crisis song about the accounts of ones life or as I really meant to interpret about a society who has grown complcent & lazy! Which brings us to the last 3 songs.Autumn Pt1
The title track. The Return of October and Autumn Pt 2 Which kind of run together to create my favorite season, the Fall. Always seem to be a time to renew or reflect and think about all of life's goodness.
I would like to ditto the thanks to all the people I thanked on the first CD "My Emotions". Belated thanks to Frank Soriano and his family for putting up with a lot of Monday & Wednesday nights and thanks for some delicious leftovers. Frank - Remember the "I'll Leave Behind My Past" session. Right after little Frankie was born? I thought your wife was gonna kill us both!! Ha Ha.. I would also like to thank the Gercak family Rick, Laurie & Alex for the use of there house and apologize for keeping Alex up on the early "Return of October Sessions". I think Laurie was ready to take that tympani and bust it over both our heads Rick. Ha Ha..
Belated thanks to Larry Donovan For the use of his Oboe on My Emotions. Special thanks, to: Marge Modro, Alan Pelton, Cindy Salac for much time, patience and dedication. But Especially to Tim and Doug Bartolowits for much inspiration, wisdom, friendship and knowledge beyond their years !
Famous Quotes when recording my emotions:
Phil Brontz: The first time he heard No One Told Me, "Wow! That's a real twanger"
On Autumn Sky The key (Ab): Nice (*@#%X@*) KEY MATT
Frank Soriano: On quoting one of his peers in the recording studio: I'm lookin' for the big thin sound !! What? !!!!!!!!!!!!
Colleen Ulke: When hearing the words to My Emotions: That sounds like things got a little nasty.
Rick Romanelli: On My Emotions, The key (Gb) Now he's got me sight reading in this @#%|*^ KEY.
Andy Quinn: On As We Go On Together: (Cb) That's (B) right ! ha-ha-ha.
Special belated thanks to James T. Leddy for the wonderful artwork on My Emotions also ditto to Andrew Moseley for the Photos and Larry Stanley for much design on the layout. I'd like to personally thank Hal Ide for taking my father and his cousin Al Pikelis under his wing to help develop their songs with his piano ability. The trio made a unique songwriting team which I was glad to become part of to add my contributions to the songs. His talents and his presence will surely be missed! God Speed HAL !
This CD is dedicated to my mom Mary Kweder who I thank for giving me life, love, discipline and encouragement about my life & music. I miss you and love you. See ya when I return home. But most of all I'd like to thank my wife Ruthy, children Keith, Troy And Tyler for their undying love, patience, understanding and all my years of these SHENANIGANS ! I love You!!! But most thanks goes to God who's bestowed on me more than anyone is worthy of !
