September 21, 2004 August 12, 2004 July 27, 2004 July 26, 2004 Martin has reportedly finished writing roughly 5-6 tracks for inclusion on a future release (hopefully DM). Dave is also allegedly writing with the help of DM-collaborators Christian Eigner and Andrew Philpott. The band are said to be clearing their schedules for recording time in November/December of this year, at which time they will likely break for the holidays. If they reconvene in January, it seems likely a release would arrive in Summer/Fall 2005. |

So, that great and encouraging news aside - it comes on the heels of the confirmation that DM's visual director, Anton Corbijn, has been working on transferring the classic concert video, Devotional, to a 2-disc DVD format! Tracklisting is unknown at this time, but if it's a 2-disc set, there's sure to be plenty of extras! The official "dotcom" site has launched a Devotional microsite, with the words "Coming Soon". Can't wait...
Lastly, over the last year or more, several remix artists have been commissioned to create remixes of classic Mode tracks, for release on an upcoming "remix album". Details are vague, but this looks set for release late in 2004.
So at least for the time being, 2004-2005 is looking like a great period of activity in the Depeche Mode camp - new material on the horizon, a remix album on the way, and the classic concert video "Devotional" finding it's way to DVD at long last. Stay tuned, because things only look up from here!
