Halloween at my house was one of the best holidays. That was because the summer had ended, with its ocean and beaches, the pools, picnics and BBQs. So when the leaves started turning you knew it would start getting colder and  snow is not far behind.  So we always celebrated like the last rose of summer, with one last changing fling.
That's me in the hat and if a vampire was attacking you, you would scream too.  And to think I made his costume for him, ungrateful vampire.
My punch pumpkin that I made of ceramic.  Many a good punch it served.  We always had a party at my house for our children, families and friends.  One year the punch was so good we sang happy birthday to the pumpkin.  I still have it.  It is now at least thirty years old.
Onr of the great things I like about Halloween is going to the pumpkin patch and selecting your pumpkins for carving or painting.  Many a day I found my blonde wig on somebodies pumpkin
When the kids are grown and gone and have their own kids you still take some part in their treats (I have been tricked by them a few times) but you wonder what there is to do.  Well there is always the Beaux Arts Ball, that my son attends, and the Henri David Parade Party on South Street that I photographed one year, then proceeded to lose the film.  But the best was the first night that me, my daughter, her daughter and my two best friends got dressed and went out to dine at the New Orleans Cafe.  I was Marie Laveu and had a little bottle of love potion #9, but lost it when we were dancing across the parking lot.
There's my pumpkin again but with a spooky hand that glows in the dark and a witch whose green face also glows in the dark.  Again  more of my ceramic abilities.

We spent this Halloween night at one of our favorite restaurants, "New Orleans Cafe".  I chose to be Marie Laveau.  I lost my little bottle of  "Love Potion # 9" when we danced across the parking lot while leaving,  It was good wine!!!
Who's scared? Not me, I just need the exercise. Ha Ha.
I was scared and if I could talk right now I would say so.
I'm not afraid of anything.

What would Halloween be without a full moon?
I want to know what is in there before I venture in.
