Here is
My Resume. I am an accomplished computer professional with experience in a variety of
work environments, from small companies to major corporations, from educational settings to
national research facilities, even telecommuting. I am adaptable, accurate, efficient, and
creative, with a focus on problem-solving, time management, and education. For an example
of my work, please see the HTML resource I created below. I have been coding in HTML since 1994
and have provided grammatical proofing services over the internet for cash and in exchange for
products and services.

There are lots of places on the Web to learn about HTML, but I got tired of trying to find what
I was looking for so I made my own. The
Sunshine HTML Resource utilizes "frames" (in a sensible way) to provide lots of
information at the same time. Check it out and let me know what you think.

This *FREE* online version of the popular
Our Daily Bread devotional guide has links to the suggested reading passages so you
don't need to have your Bible with you. I love this devotional because it makes studying the
Bible convenient and easy. It links to the NIV translation via
Bible Gateway, but you can easily switch to one of seven other versions, if you prefer.
The people who publish Our Daily Bread also have over a hundred
Discovery Series Booklets, covering many religious topics and lots of everyday issues.

HitBox is the largest community of independent sites ranked by traffic. You install a
HitBox banner or button on your web page (if you opt to pay for the service, the button is
invisible). Each time a visitor accesses that page, the image is served from the WebSideStory
servers. Then they provide *FREE* traffic reports telling you what pages your
visitors view, how long they stay there, and many more statistics. They also have a suite of
tools to help optimize your site (much like the Web Site Garage, above).
|
|
WebTracker is a *FREE* counter service that keeps track of how many
visitors you have, what browser they are using, the operating system they are running, and you
can even tell if they have visited before! Find out what days of the week are hot at your site
and what time of the day is the busiest. Plus, WebTracker is about to add a bunch of new
features.

Amazon.com sells lots of wonderful stuff at very good prices. I'm seriously thinking of
becoming an affiliate because I was already planning to have a "favorites" page listing
recommended books, albums, and movies. Now my reviews will offer the opportunity to purchase
the item (and maybe I can get a buck or two to help fund this site!).

The Best Viewed with Any Browser Campaign is an attempt to create a
platform-independent, non-browser-specific World Wide Web. I support this effort because I
personally try to create my web pages to be viewable in all browsers: Some of my pages may look
better in one browser than in another, but they should all be readable and functional with any
browser. A committment to this publishing philosophy is also what allows visually impaired
people to explore the web via special braille and voice browsers.

The Bandwidth Conservation Society was a loosely knit group of web developers who put up
a couple of pages about making GIF images smaller in file size (hence, faster web delivery).
The response was phenomenal! Their goal is to become a resource for web developers with an
interest in optimizing performance while maintaining a visually pleasing page. (Check out the
WebSite Garage's GIF Lube Shop for some tools
to help achieve these goals.)

The Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email is a group of Internet users who are
fed up with spam (junk email) and have formed a coalition to promote legislation which would
outlaw it. There is already a US law, 47 USC 227, that bans unsolicited "junk faxes." The
Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email wrote an amendment which would extend that law to
cover unsolicited ads by electronic mail. There's also a
Spam Recycling Center to which
you forward your spam. They forward information about this email to legislators and
spam-filtering software companies to help them remain up-to-date about bulk email.

The Blue Ribbon Campaign is a group which supports free speech on the internet. I
support free speech because it is the backbone of honest communication. We may disagree about
things, but how can we ever have peace or hope to understand one another without at least
hearing the opposing views? Because of this, I fully support self-regulation instead of
legislation (see next).

SafeSurf and
RSAC are self-rating guides which provide HTML codes to let browsers know the nature of
your page's content. Rate your pages today to let kids on filtered browsers see your pages (if
they contain only general-access content) or to prevent them from seeing your pages (if you have
adult-themed content). Utilizing self-ratings is a wonderful way to prevent the need for
internet censorship.
Virtuocity provides an index of "Family Friendly Sites" which voluntarily abide by
certain content/conduct guidelines.
