1978 Delta 88

Whats New For '78- Grill and taillamps are restyled. Wraparound side markers are new.

Biggest News- A 350 cubic inch diesel engine was available on all Delta 88, Ninety-Eight and Custom Cruiser models. Tests revealed a fuel economy gain of up to 25 percent with the diesel engine over comparable gasoline powered engines.

Identifying a '78- 1978 Delta 88's will appear identical to '79's, except that the grille on '79's will consist of an four vertical rectangles side by side, while grilles on '78's will consist of three horizontal rectangles stacked on top of each other on both sides. Tail lights are the same except the "rocket" badge on the fender tips will be directly on the light itself instead of above like in '79.
