Iceland Surf Breaks
This is a map of the breaks I have photographed on the following pages.  This is by no means the only surf breaks on Iceland.  There may be hundreds more waiting for the right swell, the right tide, and the right surfer, to be discovered.  It is obvious from this map, that I have explored only a small portion of Iceland.  There is no doubt that there are many, many breaks that have been discovered and surfed by the local Icelandic surfers, or other visiting surfers.

Free Iceland
Hafnir/ Evan's Reef
Sandvik
Grindavik/ East Grindavik
Thorlakshofn Reykjanes Penninsula
This map gives you a general idea of where the following breaks are located.  The capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, is located on the western coast at the top of the Reykjanes Peninsula box.  Keflavik is located just east of Hafnir on the north side of the peninsula.  It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Reykjavik to Thorlakshofn or Grindavik, and about 45 minutes to get from Reykjavik to Sandvik.  Snaefellsness is about 2 1/2 hours from Reykjavik and over 3 hours from Keflavik.
