I have done a lot of reading on various topics ranging from women's health, writing, abuse, nurturing, spirituality and therapy.  This is a listing of a few of the better books I have encountered.

Description: A very comprehensive guide for women survivors of child sexual abuse.  Includes both information, resources, and some practical                         exercises to complete.

Description: Can be used as a companion to The Courage to Heal book.  Contains many exercises and writing assignments to help in the healing process from childhood sexual abuse.

Description: Author describes ten therapeutic relationships he has while working as a psychiatrist.
Title: Soul Bird
Author: Michal Snunit
Description: Talks about the "soul bird" inside each of us that should be listened to.  Very inspirational!

Title: The House Where the Hardest Things Happened:  a memoir about belonging
Author: Kate Young Caley
Description: A quick read that delves into what it means to belong and many aspects of spirituality.
Title: Boundaries and Relationships
Author: Charles Whitfield
Description: Really in-depth discussion of co-dependency.  Primarily focuses on setting up and maintaining appropriate boundaries within various relationships.  Uses some questionaires to determine areas to focus on.  Very informative, however can be rather complex at times.
Title: When Difficult Relatives Happen to Good People
Author: Leonard Felder
Description: Discusses techniques for handling all kinds of "difficult" relatives and family situations.

Title: Stolen Innocence:  Triumphing Over a Childhood Broken by Abuse
Author: Erin Merryn
Description: I have not personally read this memoir yet, but it details Erin's struggle with her abuse through her journal articles.  It has been recommended to me by other survivors.

Description: Daily meditative reflections on relationships, asking for what you want, boundaries, work and finances, intimacy, detachment, having fun, etc.
Title: Visual Journaling:  Going Deeper Than Words
Author: Barbara Ganim and Susan Fox
Description: Unique way to create a "journal" by combining both writing and art techniques
Title: An Adult Child's Guide To What's "Normal"
Author: John C. Friel and Linda Friel
Description: A practical guide to begin deeling with the pain and trauma of being raised in a dysfunctional family.
