George Nalisnik's Windy Acre Observatory is located in the outskirts of Sunbury, PA. It is a roll-off roof design and features two telescopes built entirely by George, including the mount. The visual and planetary scope is an 8" Maksutov operating at f/15. The 6" f/5 Newtonian is set up exclusively for astrophotography. If features a Zerodur© primary and a 3" m.a. quartz secondary. A rack-and-pinion focuser moves the primary mirror. This scope was a 1988 Stellefane award winner in the following three catagories: Optics, Workmanship and Design.
