Trinidad Pictures-Part 2
Gaspary Island/Miscellaneous
These pictures are from after we got back to the CrewsInn Marina. The top shots are of the caves on Gaspary Island; the first is descending into one of the caves and the second is a rock (stalagmite) formation called "the Buddha." In keeping with the religious theme(?), the next shot is the Hindu temple we visited during the Devali celebration. Last is us with a great view of the city of Port-of-Spain in the background, taken at Fort George.
Asa Wright Nature Center
These pictures are from the Asa Wright Nature Centre. The first is the view from the verandah looking out over the Arima Valley. The next is a White-throated Emerald, a type of hummingbird, taken as he was leaving the feeder. The next 2 shots are on the trail to the Oilbird colony, with Ron and Lena from Jacobite. The last is a view from the overlook at the extreme northwest point of Trinidad, looking back across the north coast. A very rugged coastline.
Miscellaneous
These last shots: first, from the Point-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust of a Lotus with a bee landing; second, a great pannist, Professor Philmore who we saw perform twice (love pan music (aka - steel band)); and last, a pretty scene from Scotland Bay.
