Prologue
Jason Morgan rode back to Port Charles at top speed on his motorcycle, praying that he wasn't too late. He thought back to the information he got from one of his contacts in Port Charles.

~~Flashback~~

Jason was in his apartment when the phone rang. ''Yeah'', he said softly.

"Mr. Morgan, I think you'd better get back to Port Charles immediately''

''What is it, Francis? Is it Sonny?''

''No sir.'', said Francis and he paused, knowing Jason wouldn't take the news well.

Jason closed his eyes. ''Tell me Michael is ok'', he asked.

''Michael is fine, sir. Its Elizabeth Webber''

Jason's heart stopped. He'd left town to keep Elizabeth out of danger...to make sure those out for revenge against him for turing Sorel over to the PCPD would follow him & leave her alone. ''What happened?'', he asked, afraid of the answer.

''Nothing yet, but word is that Sorel has made her a target as revenge against you''

He didn't even have to give it a thought....   ''I'm leaving right now. I don't want anyone to know I'm coming, not even Sonny, got it?''

''Yes, sir''

~~End of Flashback~~

Jason was on his motorcycle inside of 20 minutes & on his way back to Port Charles to help Elizabeth, hoping that Sorel hadn't gotten to her yet. He cursed himself for leaving. Yes, he thought he was protecting her, but he should have realized that she was vulnerable. Sorel was only in jail...he could still give order for retaliation or, God forbid, hits. Elizabeth was vulnerable & it was his fault. If anything happened to her, he'd never forgive himself...he wouldn't be able to live with himself. When he got that phone call, Jason realized what his feelings for Elizabeth were. Sure he was attracted to her & he liked her, but it wasn't until he heard that she was potentially in danger that he realized the truth...he was in love with her. When he got her out of that mess & knew that she was safe & no longer at risk, he would share his feelings with her. With any luck, he'd find that she felt the same way, especially since things between her & Lucky were never the way they were. He shook his head to clear it. He couldn't think about that now...he had to be focused on one thing only...getting Elizabeth out of harm's way & keeping her safe.

An hour later, Jason bounded into the building where Elizabeth's studio was located. He went right for her door & knocked on it. ''Elizabeth, its me...open up!'', he called out, hoping she was alone. Elizabeth put down her paint brush & ran to the door, excited to hear Jason's voice. As she opened the door, she smiled broadly at him. ''Jason! Its great to see you. I'm glad...'', she said as he stepped inside & hugged her. ''Thank God'', he whispered. ''Thank God you're ok''. Elizabeth hugged him back, confused, but happy to have him back & with her. Jason broke the hug, stepped inside & had a look around. Everything seemed normal. ''Jason?'', asked Elizabeth, concerned. It was at that point that Jason realized what had happened. He closed his eyes & cursed softly. Sorel knew Jason cared for Elizabeth & used her to draw him back to Port Charles. Sorel was planning to ambush him...maybe even Elizabeth, too. Jason turned to her. ''I think you may be in danger, Elizabeth. I have to get you out of here. I'll explain later. Pack a few things & come with me...please'', he asked softly. Elizabeth understood & nodded, trusting him completely. ''Before we go, can I call...'', she started. Jason shook his head. ''Not now. If the people we care about don't know where we are or when you left, everyone will be safer.'', he explained. ''Ok, I understand'', she told him. She packed as Jason went & looked out the window, keeping watch over her. He'd die before he'd let harm come to Elizabeth, that he knew. ''I'm ready'', he heard a moment later. He turned to her. ''Let's go'', he said as he took her hand & led her out of the studio to his motorcycle. Within minutes, they were on their way out of Port Charles.

There is a knock on Joseph Sorel's office door. He had been out a couple of weeks now & had been planning to get at Morgan for some time now. Morgan would pay for the humiliation he inflicted on Sorel & for turning him over to the PCPD. Sorel called out for the person knocking to enter. ''Morgan took the bait. He was in Port Charles & at Elizabeth Morgan's art studio in record time...and they just left town together'', said informant. ''And they are being followed?'', asked Sorel. ''Very discreetly'', said the informant. ''Thank you. Your work is done & your debt is paid. You're released from service'', Sorel told him. ''Thank you'', said the informant as he left the office. Sorel shook his head. Mike Corbin would not live out the night. Most of his informants died when he was done with them anyhow. Sorel sighed & turned his thoughts to his next targets: Jason Morgan & Elizabeth Webber.
