Liz stood in her studio looking out the window, she had made it through resigning from the FOD job, and Lucky had really seemed to understand. He did seem a little depressed over it, but he wasn't mad at her and she had felt a little bit better about her ability to be honest with him. Then there was a knock on the door. "Who is it?" Liz called out. "Me again." Liz opened the door and hugged Emily. Em looked at her for a minute "So?" "I did it." Said Liz shutting the door as Em took off her coat. "I resigned. Lucky actually took it rather well, I mean he still says he loves me." Emily smiled, "Liz, I don't think you have to worry that Lucky will ever stop loving you." Liz smiled and they sat on the couch. Emily continued, "Liz, what you guys feel for each other won't just go away." "I know, but I couldn't trust myself, I lied to him. I lost trust in our feelings too. But now, now it is different." "I'm glad you can trust your feelings now, Jason always says tha-" Emily stopped realized what she had started to say. "Oh, I'm sorry Liz." Liz looked down a second and brought her head up with the kind of smile that Jason would have managed to see though. "Em, he's your brother, and he, he was my friend, you can talk about him." "No, no, that was just me- I wasn't thinking." Emily paused, "you know, its just a shame that Gia had to get her way in all of this. She is going to think that she can do anything she wants." "I don't even want to think about that right now," Liz ran her fingers through her hair and stood up. "I have to go pick up some new canvases at the art store anyway, but why don't we catch a movie tonight or something." "No, that's ok. I, well, I'm going to be with Zander." Emily picked up her coat. And reached for the door handle. "Wait," Liz called out, "Em, I just, well, I hope you have a good time with Zander. If you really think this is right" I'm sorry about what I've said before." "Don't worry. I'll see you tomorrow, ok?" "Bye." Liz shut the door and looked down at the table. There was a tour book there for Venice. "Yeah Jason," she said to herself, "Why do something that you don't want?" Then reached for her coat and purse.
RAIN DROPS Ch 2
Looking in from the outside of Liz and Jason's window into Liz's studio the room is dark. Then looking from inside the studio the door opens, the lights flick on, and Liz carries in some shopping bags. Then the song "Crazy" comes on the radio as Liz starts to get out some frames and canvases.
"'I've finally realized, that you are my true love And I had a lot of time to think, and you're all seem to keep thinking, To keep thinkin of, yeahhh And now I know I need you each and every day I can't live without you, so don't run away Baby you say that you love me, so why'd u leave me, why (why, why, why, why) I can't think, think about this crazy day I lose sleep just to daydream about you baby (I'm going crazy) I'm going crazy, crazy, crazy, just to thinkin about you lately (just to think) I'm going crazy, crazy, crazy, just to thinkin about you baby (I'm goin crazy, I'm going crazy) I'm going crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy, thinkin about you lately I'm going crazy, crazy, (crazy, crazy) when can't touch you (I'm going crazy) Crazy, crazy (crazy, crazy), when I can't hold you Crazy, crazy,(I'm going crazy) when I can't see you again (if I can see you, if I can see you if I can see you, if I can see you) If I can see you, if I can see you again Then I would go, if I could see you again I'd go craeeae"
A few tears roll down her cheek, and then the lights are off again, the door closed, and she leaves. The next place we see her in entering Jakes. She nods at Jake as she walks up the stairs and knocks on Jason's door. This time she doesn't bite her lip. After another knock the door opens. And Jason looks into her eyes. "Hi." He smiles and stares for a quick moment, "Come in." "Thanks." "You look a lot better than last time you, you came here." Jason said, reaching to take her coat. "I know, I, I won't be wearing a get up like that again. I quit the job." Jason looked up with a little bit of surprise in his face, but she continued. "I'm sorry about how I made you leave last time, I just-" He interrupted, "No questions asked. I'm just glad you are here." The both reached at the same time for a hug, which was drawn out, their faces buried in each other's shoulders. Their cheeks brushed as they let go of the embrace, but Jason hesitated to kiss her, unsure about what exactly this visit meant. "You know," Liz smiled a real smile this time, "I expected this to be awkward but I guess I must have forgotten how comfortable I can be with you." Jason smiled too. "Lets go for a ride." "That isn't why, well, that isn't the only reason I came here." Liz reached for his arm. "I know, but I want to go for a ride." They both walked out the door |
