Brian playing the shime daiko, alongside his fellow club member playing the taiko.

"Brian's Song" took on a whole new meaning for us today, as we experienced Brian's song, when Jodaiko perfomed his composition, 'Taka, Kawa, Toki' (The Hawk, The River and The Ibis):

"The main themes of the song are the natural objects mentioned in the title, and the song was written with the intention of representing then in the order they appear in the title.  The song features a number of breaks and changes in time, suggesting a single observer's quick, but appreciative glances over a natual landscape in which the hawk, river, and ibis are the most noted and watched aspects of the Environment.  Imagine your own version of the scene as the song describes it to you." ~ Brian, 2002

Brian is a man after our own hearts, nature lovers that we are.  This song celebrating nature comes fresh on the heels of my website "rhapsody" over the natural landscape of Big Bear Lake and its eagles, lake and streams and wildlife.  We are in sync.

And now, Brian is a composer of songs with nature themes.
