Sweetpea's morning "audience". When she first arrived we kept her inside the round-pen for a week so she could get to know the guys - and they could get to know her. She certainly set the rules right off. Cherokee was (and usually still is) right at her side every minute - and when he got too close to the fence she let him know in no uncertain terms. We've got several rather bent fence panels to prove it. . |

She wasn't used to us either. Dale's here, giving her breakfast and staying with the bowl to get Sweetpea accustomed to him being there. It took 3 days for that center picture (above) to come to pass. . |

And then we let her loose - and she did what every horse would do, ran herself into a lather in total celebration of her freedom. Of course, she had 3 of the guys with her every step of the way. They finally led her around the house and down to the creek - where she found her first little piece of heaven. She stood right in the middle of the creek and splashed water until she was soaked all over - then joined the guys on the flat. She later took a cue from Banjo and had a good roll - which pretty well trashed her long, winter coat. . |
