The first non-fiction book
I ever read about skinheads, it is basically a collection of great photo's taken of Skinheads in and around London circa 1980. Not much content in the text, but the ska/reggae discography was very informative at the time and is still relevant today, the fashion pages are excellent with plenty of illustrations. It has been out of print for a long time so I am not sure how to get hold of it nowadays, but if you ever see a copy grab it quick!

Title: Oi! Stories
Once upon a time in 1977 the Punk Rock scene explosion hit the English city of Sunderland. Almost overnight a Punk scene was born, the Sunderland scene that was going to produce bands like The Rebels, Angelic Upstarts, Red Alert, Red London and the Toy Dolls. The musicians from The Rebels, Red Alert and Red London have all grown up together and this friendship remained strong for over 20 years now. In that timespan they have seen it all in the world of Punk Rock. They did most of it and witnessed the rest. From touring the roads of Europe and America, meeting up with hundreds of other musicians that make up the Punk scene, to an insider's view of the Punk Rock business. So these surviving Sunderland musicians have stories to tell, Oi! stories that make this book an essential work for punks and skins. It is all there, the filth and the fury, the fun and the horror. 140 A4 pages with about 100 stories and 250 photos, covering 20 years of the Punk & Oi! scene by Kid Stoker.
