These delightful gardens were started decades ago by Lex Graham, a local resident who initially planted just one plant on impulse and was surprised when it actually grew. He and his wife Ruby transformed the hillside (degraded at that time) into the beautiful garden you can
enjoy today. It is still maintained by volunteers, with resources
provided by the local council. There's a plaque and an information board nearby telling the story .
If mobility restrictions prevent you from exploring the myriad paths, there
are seats nearby and room to park the wheelchair or pusher/stroller, so you can sit for a while enjoying the garden and water views.
