WHO WE ARE?
We are Belizeans from all
walks of life living in the Toledo District that
are committed to the sustainable and appropriate development of
Toledo
through advocacy, networking, linkages, consultations, and
empowering
people.
The Board of Directors are from the community involved in
Eco Tourism,
Indigenous People, Women, Youth, Education, Bio-Diversity,
Farming, and with the Business Community.

WHAT IS IT?
TASTE, A Toledo Association established as a
non-profit, non-governmental, apolitical organization that
promotes an understanding of, interest in, the practice of and
facilitate the sustainable development of tourism, sustainable
small scale organic agriculture, agro-forestry, forestation,
appropriate technology, environmental conservation,
Mari-culture, rural and urban development, and managing
protected areas.

MISSION STATEMENT:
Its mission is to assist in the sustainable and
appropriate development of
Toledo and its citizens through the empowerment process relevant
to the
objectives of TASTE.

HOW TO ACCOMPLISH:
It fulfills its mission by creating projects within
the objective parameters
for which TASTE is established.

ACTION PROCESS:
TASTE innovative management structure (desks) will initiate
local projects
that will:
- create jobs
- promote self-reliance
- improve living conditions
- protect natural resources
- upgrade the quality of life of the marginalized
- promote sustainable agricultural practices
- enhance cultural retrieval
- address the concerns of women and youth
- facilitate appropriate low technology transfer
- assist with sustainable human development
- increase productivity
- generate a livable income
- provide skills training
- attract sustainable eco-tourism
- be sustainable |
SUSTAINABILITY:
We will incorporate various financial devices to
maintain stability, and
sustainability for the "next generation."
- Diversified funding portfolio

- Percentages of gross income from enterprises assisted by TASTE
- Internet email linkages
- Innovative and creative financing

As we are young, growing, committed concerned and
imaginative organization, we welcome and appreciate any advice

generation" to maturity.
