Hamsters live only for a few years, but in their short lifespan we can become very attached to them. Often when hamsters or other small pets die, owners feel guilty, as if it were their fault. Normally, hamsters die of old age or old age related disease, most of which the owner has no control over. As long as we have kept good care of our hamster and have given it a very interesting and healthy life, we shouldn't feel guilty about their death. There is a beautiful, heart-warming poem that will help you deal with the loss of your hamster called "The Rainbow Bridge" found at www.oocities.org/petsburgh/2240/loss.html. If you have recently experienced the death of a beloved hamster, this site will help to cheer you up. |
