Other Ideas |
Here's a list of simple ideas that are pretty much self-explanatory. Cardboard box houses: These are very effective custom homes as they come in different sizes and shapes (try to get boxes without ink, as the ink might be toxic); windows and other styles can be cut out for ventilation if necessary. Lego houses: These can be used as toys or sleeping houses (although they aren't organic, they seldom get chewed due to their flat sides). Two lego buildings can be joined by a lego bridge. Glass fish bowl: The smaller the better, as fish bowls tend to be fairly large. Tilt it on its side and put it in the cage. Empty tin can: Tin cans are a favourite for storing food and sleeping. Make sure all sharp edges are sanded off!!! Pipe house: A short length of curved plumbing piping about 3 inches (7 cm) in diameter with one end capped off provides a dark and secluded area for your hamster to sleep. |
