For The Love Of Owen
Hush Little Baby
Hush,  little baby, don't say a word,
Mama's going to buy you a mockingbird.

And if that mockingbird don't sing,
Mama's going to buy you a diamond ring.

And if that diamond ring turns brass,
Mama's going to buy you a looking glass.

And if that looking glass gets broke,
Mama's going to buy you a billy goat.

And if that billy goat won't pull,
Mama's going to buy you a cart and bull.

And if that cart and bull turn over,
Mama's going to buy you a dog named Rover.

And if that dog named Rover won't bark,
Mama's going to buy you a horse and cart.

And if that horse and cart fall down,
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town.
As parents we try to do whatever possible to try to keep our children happy, safe, and healthy. And no matter how pretty, handsome, or smart they are, if that mockingbird don't sing, Mama will buy you a diamond ring.
Owen is a 10 month old little boy, who just happens to have Metopic Craniosynostosis. His forehead fontenelles closed too soon after birth and therefore his dear little head will not grow properly so as to let his little brain expand as well as to let his head shape normally.
The surgery is a 4 - 6 hour procedure that involves opening and pulling the scalp back and opening the cranial area at the forehead, spacing and expanding it, and reshaping to ensure proper normal growth of his cranial area.
Owens parents and grandparents have put their faith in God to get them through this ordeal, Owens surgery is scheduled for July 4th. Please sign Owens guestbook to let his family and friends know that they are not alone In this.

My Grandson
Each time that I hold him in my arms
It's a feeling that words cannot measure.
The love that overflows in my heart
Is worth more than any treasure.

As I hold him so very close to me
He looks at me with his big blue eyes,
He smiles and wrinkles his little nose
I smile back then look to the skies.

I'm thinking, Dear Lord, you've given me such a gift
And I will abide by what has to be
But if You don't mind, could You please stay near
We are counting on You to see,

That we need him safe and we want him well
We'd like all the great things that life has in store
For our sweet little boy who's just starting life
He's our treasure and oh so much more

All the wonders of Your creation
We'd like him to appreciate and love
And as he grows into understanding
He'll know Who to thank up above.

Request Of An Angel
I believe that there are angels and
They're always very near,
Whispering words of faith to us whenever
Clouds appear.

They protect us from all danger and are
There to show us the way,
Constantly at work creating miracles in
our each and every day...

Oh, I believe in angels, and I know that you will too.
And I'll ask a special angel to be watching over you.

Update: July 5th, 2000

I just got an email from Owen's grandmother Flo, Owen had his surgery yesterday. The operation took about 4 hrs. and there seem to be no complications. His Mother was able to get him to drink a few sips of water and best of all to hold her precious little son in her arms.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone who took the time to sign Owen's guestbook and for all your prayers.  Thank you and may God bless each and everyone of you.
