A Call To Be Contemplative In Action
For Ecumenism

Our prayer is to remain contemplative in action in a world of activity and change without isolating from that ever shifting stream of events and opportunities. Our scope is ecumenical thus we dedicate our self offering to promote Church unity. Therefore, it must be supported by a serious asceticism of the body as well as of the mind. It demands us to remain truly religious, authentically free, genuinely poor, intelligently obedient in a world of consumption, possession and selfishness.

After so much public negativity surrounding the Catholic Church in recent years, it is extremely encouraging to see so many good Catholics visiting our Spiritual exercise Center for the weekend. It is very encouraging to see that the Bridgettines are vibrant and steadfast in service and adherence to the Magisterium of the Church to settle unity.

"I couldn't have spent my weekend better. It is not every day that you are able to interact with a community that truly cares for your spiritual well being.", says a visitor. "The weekend was a good time for me to pray and to experience the life of a Bridgettine. It has opened my eyes to the many possibilities of Bridgettine Life.”, whispers a young student worker.

"I dare to summon the whole Church bravely to cross this new threshold, to put out into the deep of the Net, so that now as in the past the great engagement of the Gospel and culture may show to the world 'the glory of God on the face of Christ' (2 Cor 4:6)".
