Asmara Beach

Asmara Beach is located on the southermost tip of Pulau Tiga. Home to many of the immunity challenges of Survivor 1, this section will feature short profiles on two of the people that make Survivor the great show that it is.

The Creator: Mark Burnett
Mark Burnett is the co-executive producer and creator of Survivor. A former member of the elite British Army Parachute Regiment, he is also a white water raft guide, a Level A certified skydiver and an open water certified scuba diver.
Not only is Mark connected with Survivor, he has also won critical acclaim and major awards for his work on the Eco-Challenge, an experience that pits competitors against the obstacles and elements of a rugged locale. Coincidentally, the 2000 Eco-Challenge was shot in Borneo. He is also the brains behind the hit show The Apprentice, co-produced with Donald Trump.
Mark is married and has two sons

The Host: Jeff Probst
Before the advent of Survivor, very few people knew about Jeff Probst. Born in Wichita and raised in Seattle, he wrote, produced and narrated training films for Seattle companies before becoming an on-air personality for the entertainment newsmagazine Access Hollywood, where he worked for a short period of time. He also hosted a few programs for cable channel FX, as well as hosting Rock n' Roll Jeopardy for VH-1. He made his directoral debut in the independent feature Finder's Fee, based on a screenplay he wrote. The film won major acclaim at film festivals across the United States.
He was named one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful and one of TV Guide's 50 Hottest Stars in 2001, as well as earning an Emmy for his work on Survivor. You may have also heard him on Disney's animated series Fillmore!, where he provided the voice of Vice-Principal Raycliff
