The statue in Beijing is 6 meters tall.

The base of the Beijing statue is 4 meters tall.

The top of the Beijing statue is 10 meters above the ground level.

The Washington, DC statue (proposed) will be the same size as the Beijing Statue.

In addition to the 10-meter statues in Beijing  (installed in January 2001) and Washington, DC (proposed), there is a proposed 108-meter statue.

The 108-meter statue will be wider and taller than the Statue of Liberty.

Why is the big Statue of World Peace so big?
Is there a reason why the Statue of World Peace needs to be 108 meters tall?
It will be taller than the Statue of Liberty

1. 108 = 12 X 9

"12" : There is a legend about a Chinese goddess in ancient times who created the globe by dividing the sky into 12 layers.

"9": From 0-9, 9 is the biggest number, which stands for nobility and honor.

"108": means "mostly revered" and "infinitely great".

2. 108 = (2X2) X (3X3X3)

"2" is an even number, so it is also a yin number (in China). The peace goddess is yin (female).

"Yin" stands for the feminine energy. Harmony needs both sides (man and woman) to be in balance.

"3" is a cardinal number, and it is a yang number (in China). According to Taoism, everything in the world starts from "1", then "2", later "3".

So the globe comes from "3". "3" is a living number and denotes vitality.

Therefore, 108 is a number denotes the concord (between the heaven and human) and prosperity of the world.
