LANCASTER AT TAM!
The Lancaster is safely at our museum at last! Hearty congratulations go to the crew chiefs, the crew, and members-at-large for many hours of dedication and on-site work in all kinds of weather. The "Bailey Catering Service" was especially appreciated by the landing crew.

Hunting-Percival Sea Prince Arrived at TAM Nov, 13th, 99

The Museum, throught the efforts of aquisitions manager Terry Ward, has recently received another aircraft.
A Hunting-Percival Sea Prince. Built in 1951 the Sea Prince is powered by two radial Alvis-Leonides engines and can carry cargo or 14 passengers with a crew of 2. and was operated primarily by the Royal Navy. The aircraft arrived on the afternoon of November 13, piloted by museum member Alan Dares.
It is belived that there are very few examples of a Sea Prince in flyable condition.

Recent Arrivals:

The Long Hanger now is home to the recently arrived Beech Musketeer. The Musketeer was used as a transition trainer (between the Chipmunk primary trainer and twin-engine / jet trainers) for about one year. It replaced the Harvard . The Musketeer has a flaw however - it was too easy to fly!
This trainer had to be more demanding on student pilots, so the Harvard returned to its former role.

Ultralights in Good Hands

We are pleased to welcome Lorne Blunt as the Crew Chief for Ultralights. Lorne is tending to the Lazair as his first TAM project. We are also grateful to Lorne for his donation of his beautiful photos of FM104 taken in 1964 at Downsview!
