Welcome to my character information area for Slayers. Since I only own the first season of Slayers I will only discuss the characters from that series. After each characters discription you will find a list of pictures. I kinda merged my image gallery and character info pages into one.

Lina Inverse

Lina is Slayers main character. She's a sassy sorceress that likes to rob theives and save the world. She specializes in the use of black magic and her most powerful spell is the giga slay. Well she doesn't use the giga slay often since it requires the use of the sword of light and if the spell is done incorrectly it could destroy the world. Aside from the giga slay Lina more commonly uses dragon slay. It is her second most powerful spell and only uses it when necessary. She also seems to have a thing for Gourry, but she would never admit it.

Goury

Goury is your basic sidekick. He meets Lina, and at first thinks she is a little girl that got lost. He joins up with her and even though he is a little airheaded, he's always handy in a pinch. Gourry doesn't use any magic but, he carries a sword with him. Later on it turns out that his sword is the sword of light that slayed the legendary beast Zannafar. Lina spends a lot of time begging Goury for this sword since she can use it with her magic to make powerful spells.

Zelgadis

Zelgadis is an interesting character. When he first makes his appearance in Slayers he seems to be a bad guy. But, as the episodes progress it turns out that the red priest Rezo turn him into a chimera. Hence the scalely face. He now searches for a piece of the world staff called the philosopher's stone, so that he can change himself back into a human. He uses shamanist magic, which deals with monsters on an astral level. If I remeber correctly he uses the Ra Tilt alot. This spell kills the monster on an astral level. Real monsters, unlike orgres and trolls, can only be killed in this way or with a sword of light.

Zolf, Rodimus, and Dilgear

These three fellows were the servants of Zelgadis. They helped Zelgadis find the Orihalcon statue which Lina had. Zolf's encounter with Lina got him burned so he spends a lot of time wrapped in bandages. He uses magic like Lina and can even summon the dragon slay spell. Rodimus is the big axe weilding fellow. He doesn't use magic but is mean with an axe. He and Dilgear spend a lot of time fighting with Goury while Zell chases after Lina. Zolf and Rodimus both meet their end while trying to help Lina kill the dark lord. Dilgear is a wolf/troll hybrid that turns against Zelgadis and works for Rezo. He has no real magic spells and is killed in the series by Zolf and Rodimus.

Amelia

Amelia is the little girl with a passion for justice. She meets Lina later in the series and is determined to learn Lina's powerful dragon slay spell. Lina is reluctant to teach Amelia this so instead puts her through a grueling training coarse and in the end Amelia still doesn't learn the spell. Amelia's character is so cute its almost annoying. She can never seem to do anything quite right and spends a lot of time falling on her face. Her magic is mostly healing based and I can't recall her using a particular spell frequently. It is rummored that her and Zelgadis may have a thing for each other, but who knows.

Sylphiel

Sylphiel is a kind, quiet person. She appears towards the end of the series and seems to know Goury. She also seems to have a crush of some sort on him. She is a priestess of the shrine of Saairag and usess white magic. Despite her soft spoken qualities she becomes quite angered when her father is killed and her village destroyed. She constantly warns Lina of the danger of the giga slay and ends up saving Lina's life and helping destroy the copy Rezo in the final battle scene. She knows the where abouts of the blessed blade.

Rezo

Rezo the red priest was a famous man. It is said that he traveled from town to town healing the people. Unfortunately, Rezo is blind and although he could cure others blindness he couldn't cure his own. His obsession to cure himself led him to studying powerful magic and deciding to resurect the dark lord Shabranigdo. He made a deal with the monster race that if he resurected the dark lord that he would get his sight back. So Rezo turned out to be a bad guy. He is also the person who turned Zelgadis into a chimera which made Zelgadis a servant to him. In the end Rezo came through and he helped Lina defeat the dark lord.

Eris

Eris is the faithful servant of Rezo. She is constantly at his side and helps him with his work. She was responsible for copying Rezo when he died. Eris thought she had control over the copy Rezo but he somehow developed on his own and he became her demise. After the copy Rezo revived the beast Zanaffar he killed Eris and she died with a broken heart. Eris had fallen in love with the original Rezo and thats why she tried so hard to help the copy get revenge.

Zangulus and Vrumugun

These two guys were hired by Eris to capture Lina and Goury. Zangulus thinks of himself as a great swordsman and duels with Goury to prove it. Even though Zangulus had the powerful howling sword it was no match for Goury and the sword of light. After Zangulus is beaten he disappears and I hear reapears in later Slayer's series. Vrumugun is a magic user. He is actually a copy of the original Vrumugun which explains how he manages to reapear after Lina kills him several times.
