More than two hundred prominent Muslim Scholars and public opinion leaders from all over the Muslim countries signed a declaration on Iraq. The declaration emphasised that any contribution to war on Iraq is not permissible by Shari'ah.

The signatories: Muhammad Ma'mun al-Hudaybi, leader of the Muslim Brotherhood; Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, most prominent Muslim Scholar and Chairman of the European Council of Fatwa; Qazi Hussain Ahmad, leader of Jamaat-e-Islami in Pakistan, Sheikh Rachid Ghannouchi, Sheikh Suhaib Hassan, Professor Gulam Azzam, appreciate greatly and commend the intensive efforts that have been, and continue to be, exerted by the forces of good and peace within Europe, America and all over the world. They declared the 14th and 15th of February 2003 days of rage and protest against the U.S policies. They also called on Muslims and the free peoples of the world to boycott U.S. and Israeli products.

Students, professors, artists and Muslims participated in a "March for Peace" through the Philippine capital Manila ending in a candlelight vigil outside the US embassy

Islamic Asia marked its opposition to the war. Hundreds of Malaysian activists protested in the capital Kuala Lumpur and on the island state of Penang.

in the Islamic republic of Pakistan, the Lahore-based Pakistan Anti-War Committee, a coalition of labour and political groups, organised protests in 20 cities.

America has an estimated 5 million Muslims - more than Presbyterians, Episcopalians and some other religious groups. Fewer than 100 U.S. Muslims have been involved in terrorist actions against the United States. That's not even one-500th of 1 percent.
