We would welcome ideas and support in improving our site.
Our aim is to aid learning of Languages by providing some of the material we use at school and to make it accessible to our students and their families when not at school.
The examination board for languages is
OCRIn all sets students have exams in reading, speaking (French
sample questions and German sample questions) and listening as well as either a writing exam or coursework.Please note that from 2003 dictionaries will not be allowed in Languages' exams.
Students can choose a mixture of papers at higher and foundation level.
Higher = grades A* - D
Foundation = grades C - G
French
German
Spanish
Parents will be notified via statements of entry if the written paper is to be taken instead of coursework.
Please note that the German exams tend to be completed before the May half term.

The study of a foreign language is compulsory as a National Curriculum subject at Key Stage 3. The arrangements shown below apply to the school year 2003 - 2004.
Year 7
All pupils learn French
All pupils have half a year of German and half a year of Spanish
Year 8
All students learn French and German or Spanish.
All year 8 students who returned their reply slips before the start of term have been placed in the language of their choice.
There are 3 sets in each of 2 broad bands
Year 9
All students continue to learn French and German or Spanish.
All students learn a foreign language at Key Stage 4. One or two languages can be studied. The arrangements shown below apply to the school year 2003 - 2004.
Students choose French, German or Spanish according to the languages studied in KS3.
AS and A2 courses are available in French and German.
