JET and JET-related sites:

JET Programme – the official JET Program Website.  Offers information for anyone interested in participating in the program.

JETAA – The Japan Exchange and Teaching Alumni Association.  An international organization for former and current JET members.  Provides some good information, including lots of first-hand accounts of JET life.

JET Program for American Citizens – By the Japanese Embassy in Washington, D.C.  Provides some detailed info for, you guessed it, American citizens who want to apply to JET.

JET Tanuki.com – This guy is my inspiration.  Check him out!

Japanese language reosurces:

Jeffrey’s Japanese-English Dictionary – My favorite online Japanese-English dictionary … actually, my favorite Japanese-English dictionary period.  Even provides a Kanji lookup.  However, like any in-depth resource, it can get a little complicated.  Use this version of the site if you can’t read kana or if your browser doesn’t support Japanese.

Hirigana/Katakana Drill – A guy who took Japanese at my college (WVU) wrote a neat little program that lets you test your kana knowledge.  Great for people who are trying to improve their kana recognition skills.  It has a few little bugs, but it’s free.  Follow a link on this page to download.

WVU Japanese Program – In honor of Nō sensei and Minami sensei, I’m gonna link to this.  It’s the homepage for the few, yet close-knit teachers, students (and prospective students) in the Japanese department of WVU (after all, Japanese is a language you study only if you’re really interested in it, unlike Spanish, which you take because it’s easy and you need X semesters of a FL).

More links later.
