Tatted Angel Wreath by Lenore English (c) 12/2001

Made with size 20 thread this wreath is about 5".  The pattern is a variation of my bookmark pattern. I used one of my little angels in the center, but I would like to try it for valentines day with a heart, or springtime colors with a butterfly (or hummingbird!).

Abbreviations:

p = picot
vsp = very small picot (for joining)
j = join
rw = reverse work
slt= shoelace tie = the first knot you use when you tie your shoes, reverses your thread without a 2nd shuttle.

Ring: 6 p 6 p 6
Chain: 4 p 4 p 3 vsp 1 j(to ring) slt rw
Chain: 3 p 3 p 3 p 3 p 3 p 3
*Ring: 6 j (3rd p on 1st chain) 6 p 6
Chain: 3 p 3 p 3 p 3 p 3 p 2 vsp 1 j(adj p on ring) slt rw
Chain: 3 j(2nd p on 1st chain), 4 p 4
Ring: 6 j (vsp on last chain) 6 p 6
Chain: 4 p 4 p 3 vsp 1 j(to p on prev r) slt rw
Chain: 3 j(5th p on adj chain) 3 p 3 p 3 p 3 p 3
Repeat from * until you have a circle (I used 32 rings in size 20 thread to get a wreath large enough for my little angel)
After the 32nd ring is completed
Chain: 3 p 3 p 3 p 3 p 3 j(to 1st p on 2nd chain from beginning. BE CAREFUL NOT TO TWIST YOUR WORK)
Chain 3 j(to 1st ring) j(32nd ring) slt rw
Chain 3 j(to adj chain) 4 p 4 j(to base of 1st ring)

Finish threads, stiffen as desired.
