Nellie May Taylor

Nellie May was born to James and Sarah Taylor November 2, 1888 in White County, Illinois. Medium-tall, dignified looking. Not as light-skinned as the others, with ash-brown hair. She was unusually talented with her hands and could make anything she needed. Could hang paper, paint, carpenter like any man, and played the organ. She was a "no nonsense" person, without the usual Taylor humor. She married Luther Creek in 1908 in White County and had two daughters, Maude and Evelene. It was an unhappy marriage and she had a hard life. She divorced Creek in 1920 and moved to Chicago to work. She remarried a gentleman there named Daugherty. They had two more children, Earl and Bob. We do know she has passed on, date and location unknown.

Maude and Evelene did marry; Clarence Smith and Walter Forkum, respectively.
