???  LIST OF QUESTIONS ??
?

Hi, friends of Maysam,

My name is Steve and I live in Fort Lauderdale.  I hope you will call me by
SKYPE.com and practice English.  I offer a free conversation class to any person in Iran (up to three people per day, 20 minutes per person) and you can reserve your time by writing to me at s2314@tmail.com   -- for example, perhaps you want to connect at 10 p.m. your time on Monday and Wednesday.
You can get some suggestions for exercises at
www.FreeEnglishLessons.com and I hope you will send email messages to me in Fort Lauderdale.  I teach students from France, Switzerland and Japan.  We all would like to correspond with people from Iran so we can learn more about your country’s history and natural beauty.  I don’t agree with everything my government says.  I believe that  people-to-people contacts will build trust.   If you cannot connect via SKYPE.com, please send me your phone number and I will call you by SKYPE.com
One of the exercises is learning to pronounce.   You can go to
www.FreeEnglishLessons.com and practice a conversation and a list of words from the 14 groups of sounds:  ate, at, Pete, pet, Bite, bit, hope, hop, cute, cut, could, house, bought, boy…  those are the fourteen vowel sounds in English.  I will check your pronunciation.
Steve

Volunteer at a local school and you WILL need to practice speaking.
Make a presentation about Gaudi or about your city or about something that you think is FABULOUS.  Make an appointment with the teacher so you can give the presentation to the class.

FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS (or students who are curious about what a university is like)
Call a professor, make an appointment, then visit the professor on the university campus.
Ask for a tour of the campus through the admissions office (you can say that your friend is interested in studying in the USA and you are collecting information).
For example, visit Nova University, 3301 College Avenue.   Suggested professor:
wolfl@nova.edu Write to her and ask for her phone number.  Then call her and ask for a short appointment.

Use a digital camera to record the teacher.  Then write the sentences, word for word, and make a guide for studying.

His friend says, "Wow, that is the most thoughtful and touching thing I have ever seen. You truly are a kind man." The man then replies, "Yeah, well, we were married 35 years."

Steve, why should I do all of these things?
You don’t need to do these actions.  They are optional

Treat students with respect.  Give them real work.  Give them challenges that need answers, not simple grammar exercises.

BRAVO TO FERNANDO and AURELE

You are my first "YOUTUBE" students.
You love to look at YOUTUBE.com so I asked you to write at least three sentences about three YOUTUBE videos.

Here is the first description that you completed.

SEARCH:
Chelsea vs Arsenal (Carling cup final; fight between players)
http://www.youtube.com/
watch?v=QAi75ceNqZ4

Firstly, in this video you can see a fight between two soccer players. It happened last weekend during  a soccer game between two of the of the best soccer team in England. The fight lasted almost ten minut_s and even the coach_s of the two teams came into the field to stop the fight.

Secondly, two players of Arsenal and one of Chelsea got red cards, so they had to leave the field.
In fact it wasn't the first fight between this two teams. There are always fights between the two teams, especially when the game is very important.

In my opinion i think nowadays there are too many fights during soccer games because of the money. A lot of money makes people very selfish and
a_gressive. I think also the stake or the purpose of the game makes people crazy and violent.

BIG NEWS

in my country  (perhaps we will do this during the UNICEF party)   (I didn’t write “we are going to…”)
World News Update
By Embassy Channel 6
Broadcasting from the 6th Floor
Your task (job, mission, work) for today is “find an article in the newspaper or a piece of information to entertain or inform other students.”
In your OWN WORDS, please explain the news of the day.  (If you like reading, you can read the article, but I want your summary to start.)

Example:

Summary:  Perhaps you did not hear about this news item.  In Honolulu in November, a woman was running for Senator and she wanted to get attention, so she used an electric car to drive around the city.  It was very surprising because she was a candidtate in the party of George Bush.  Here is what the newspaper wrote about her….
(Then you can read two or three sentences)

Then the next person stands up.

Are you ready? Go Go go find a short article and tell us what happened!

You can use the Internet
We can start a news service for students at CES, so send me your short summary and we can put it on the FREE ENGLISH LESSONS blog.
