TREE OF WISDOM  <<<< from HACC

Here's a worksheet for you to complete...
Let's talk about our heroes. They sacrificed time with their families and they didn't spend a lot of time watching TV.

Your ancestors sacrificed time to protect their families, to make their lives better, to make your life better.  In your blood is that same ability.  You can focus on the goal:  IMPROVE YOUR SKILLS.

Step one: do the worksheet problems.  Whne you find a problem you can't do, PUT A QUESTION MARK and bring the worksheet to class.
Step Two: in class, ASK QUESTIONS.  Sometimes the teacher will answer the quetion, sometimes another student will answer the question.
Step Three: at night, look at your notes.

It's not the last day!  You have two weeks of "opportunity" to continue to develop your skills....  "vacation" will take you to your "vocation."

Each day:
two periods of Communication, 2 periods of Math

If your score is below 700 in math, then you will be expected to attend the two periods for math.

If your score is below 700 in communication, then you will be expected to attend the two periods for communication.

Each day I will begin the class with a "pep talk".  The topics are given for each day.  Most people like to hear a story, so you will get a story.

I will videotape my talks to the group.  If you are absent or if you are late, you can still watch the videotape.

You will receive question sheets each day.  You will complete the worksheet, alone or with a team.

Each day you will work in teams.  Each person will find a group to work with...  you can work with the people of your choice, but sometimes I will select the groups.

Each person will lead their group of four or three students at least once.  When you teach a solution, you learn the subject in a stronger way.
