Yugo Autocross
|
Autocross / Solo. It's FUN in something small!! While driving Yugo's for several years, I put one to the test. I am building a new Yugo for Solo event during the winter of 2008-2009.

It was a lot of fun to watch the rear inside tire "get air" sometimes lifting 10 inches high. (2005) |
The front anti-sway bar is doubled up. This helped considerably to control body roll. A way to make it adjustable would be a positive modification later. (2005) |
This is an Addco aftermarket rear sway bar. It made a big difference in stabilizing the rear, but it's a bit to stiff. Making this adjustable to would be positive. (2005) |
By now a Weber carburetor, exhaust header, front and rear sway bars were added. (2006) |
It took a while before the Yugo was stripped to run in the prepared class. A good set of tires and lack of weight was all that was done in the beginning. (2005) |

The first outing Solo racing with the blue Yugo was in stock form. It was a handful (Oh the body roll) but a lot of fun. (2003) |
The blue Yugo was still my daily driver; this one run in 2003 gave me the idea to modify one. (2003) |
This was the first Yugo to autocross. It was a loaner car for anyone who wanted to try an autocross. (1999) |
