SYNOPSIS

Ralph Taeger played the title role of a cavalry scout in the Arizona Territory c. 1870, in the Western adventure.

Hondo was an embittered loner. He had once been a Confederate Cavalry captain, and had lived with the Apaches for a time under the aegis of Chief Vittoro, only to see his Indian bride - Vittoro's daughter - slain by the army in a massacre. Now he traveled with a dog named Sam, troubleshooting for the army and trying to avert further bloodshed in the campaign against renegade Indians, land grabbers, gunmen, and bandits around Fort Lowell.

Capt. Richards was the young commander of the fort; Buffalo Baker, a colorful scout; Angie Dow, Hondo's romantic interest, and Johnny, her 9-year-old son.

Based on Louis L'Amour's story, and the 1953 John Wayne movie derived from it.
