I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. McCallum on October 23, 1999, while he was performing Emperor Joseph II of Austria in Amadeus at the Ahmonson Theatre in Los Angeles. The play was simply brilliant, with wonderful performances by David Suchet as Salieri and Michael Sheen as Mozart. Mr. McCallum was hysterical as the Emperor, and afterward when I met him, he was very sweet. I was able to tell him how much I enjoyed his work and he signed autographs as we chatted.
