This was Barry and Enright's short lived rendition of the Match Game. It had some distinct differences, however. The maximum a player could score in any game was 18 pts. not 6 like in Match Game. The game was also played in 3 rounds. The format was that every player gave a seperate answer to a unique problem or issue. In round 1, the matches or "Connections" as they were called scored 1 pt. The player had the option to choose from the top or bottom row. Jim would then ask the question and the player had to give seperate answers for each of the three celebrities. Same deal in round 2 except now every connection was worth 2 points. Also, now a player had to choose from either the men or the women celebrities. In round 3, it was back to the same as in round 1, either the top or bottom row. After 3 rounds, the player with the most points went on to play the bonus game. There were two bonus games used in the shows run. Both invlved writing 3 seperate words associated with a person, place or thing. In the first bonus game, every connection was worth $250, $750 won thee trip BUTTT, there was another goody in this first bonus game, you could have two tries to double the money, first try for $1500 and then for $3000. However, if you did not make a connection correctly during this part, you lost all accumulated money but you still won the trip. In the second bonus game, there were three seperate dollar amounts that each word was worth, one was worth $100, another $200 and another worth $300. $1000 or more won $2000 and the trip and that is all I have to say about that.
