Mo Yung Fok would then send a servant to take Wong Yee Yin away, but he stayed to watch the fight. Din Yee would follow Wong Yee Yin closely behind and hid in the bush to observe her beauty. Tong Long would later give Hoi Juk a bowl of vegetable noodles, which she placed pieces of pork in it. Having been starved for days Hoi Juk ate the noodles hurriedly and was then told that he had eaten pork. He became disgusted and sat back on the floor and prayed because in his heart he had not yet broken any rules. Jong Ming was poisoned and Ah Chi had been accused and ran off. It was later discovered that the room next door was poisoned, and the Jade Shaolin Stick and the Hitting Dog Stick was hidden in the room. Having recovered both items, Kiu Fung, wanted to use them to prevent the Sit Dan King from attacking the Sung Dynasty. Ah Chi would return and steal both items replacing them with sticks, making Kiu Fung look like a fool infront of the Sit Dan King. Mo Yung Bok was then informed that Mo Yung Fok had been killed and set out to deal with the group. His kung fu was so high that Kiu Fung, Hoi Juk, and Din Yee where no match for him, and they where kicked down a mountain and trapped in a cave. Luckily for the group, swordsman Duk Ku Kau Pai, had visited the cave before and left instructions behind as to how to leave the cave. Ah Chi would later use the Jade Shaolin Stick and the Hitting Dog Stick to blackmail Kiu Fung into marrying her. Left with no other alternatives to prevent the war Kiu Fung promised. Ah Chi had hidden the items at a very far place however leaving them with no time to recover the items. Kiu Fung rushed to meet with the Sit Dan King, who refused to delay his attack on the Song Dynasty. Kiu Fung then committed suicide in an attempt to prevent the war. But his sacrifice did not prevent the Sit Dan King from taking his troops to war. Ah Chi arrived with the two items too little too late. Her evils ways have finally caused the death of Kiu Fung, the only person she has ever loved. Ah Chi then committed suicide by jumping off the cliff. Mo Yung Bok was less then happy when the Sit Dan King decided not to attack the Song Dynasty. Hoi Juk and Din Yee protected the Sit Dan King and Mo Yung Bok left. Hoi Juk and Din Yee then decided to deal with Mo Yung Bok, who was always one step ahead of them. Not only was his kung fu the best but he could read Hoi Juk and Din Yee's minds. Mo Yung Bok killed many people from Ling Chow Kung before Hoi Juk could seek their help. Luckily for Hoi Juk he was saved by the four female swordsman, and taken up to Ling chow Kung to recover from his injuries. Three of the female swordsman had died protecting his safe passage. Din Yee sought the help of his farther Din Jing Hing, but he too was killed hours before Din Yee arrived. All of the Big Bad guys were killed by Mo Yung Bok as well. Finally when all hope was lost, Siu Yin San, arrived and offered to help. Knowing that they couldn't defeat Mok Yung Bok, Hoi Juk thought of a plan, which required the sacrifice of one life in order to be successful. They drew straws to see which one would be sacrificed. Hoi Juk came up with the shortest straw, but Siu yin San, would sacrifice his own life upon discovering that Hoi Juk had a wife. A few nights later the three men met and dueled with Mo Yung Bok. Siu Yan San, sacrificed his life so Hoi Juk and Din Yee can combine their inner strength to kill Mo Yung Bok. That night Siu Yin San would be buried next to Kiu Fung. Hoi Juk and Din Yee were left standing besides their wives looking sad in the rain. RATING (7) "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils II", was a well produced series. The actors chosen played their parts to near perfection. Tong Chun Yip was superb in his performance as Din Yee, who is portrayed to be a boring, simple character. Chan Yuk Ling's physical appearance really suited this role and performed well despite not getting much screen time. Sak Sau was very convincing at looking evil and powerful. Tse Yin acted very well as Ding Jing Sit. Wong Hung Sau played Jong Ming well. Wong Yat Wah was very outstanding as Hoi Juk. The acting is therefore top notch. The plot however leaves a little to be desired. There was far too many senseless killings in this series. Mok Yin Ching never died in the novel however TVB felt it necessary that she sacrifice her life for Din Yee. A trick repeated about 100, 000, 000, 000 times in other TVB ancient series. Din Jing Hing was also murdered, the sweeper monk was murdered. Mo Yung Bok causing all that trouble by leaving Shaolin, never happened in the novel. Mo Yung Fok also gets killed in this series, however in the novel it mentions that he becomes crazy. All these moves make the plot resemble the typical ancient series plots. Evil dude is real powerful, a number of sacrifices prevents the heroes from getting killed. In the end duel between good and evil, good triumphs while evil is vanquished. The sound track for this series was superb. The theme song is very energetic and heroic, fitting for the series. Tunes used during the series brought of the drama, and emotions of the characters very well. Costumes chosen were fitting as always. Din Yee actually looks like a Prince in this series. The Sit Dan costume where fitting also. With limited special affects during the 1980's the fighting is as good as it gets. At least in this series the actors need to demonstrate that they can at least imitate kung fu kicks and strikes, even if they don't know kung fu. Nowadays the kung fu is shocking, with explosions left right and center. All this combined means the series gets a 7 out of 10, the great acting and theme music compensating for the deviated plot at the end. WONG YAT WAH AS HOI JUK This was one of Wong Yat Wah's earlier series. Playing the role early in his career helped Wong Yat Wah because he was very convincing as the naive monk Hoi Juk. He was simply just outstanding at the beginning of the series, where Hoi Juk had just met the 2nd Big Bad Guy until he meet Mo Ku. He was very convincing through this part of the series with his scratching off the head, body movements. Wong Yat Wah was unable to display any realistic emotion that he needed when he was reunited with Mo Ku, during that scene. Apart from a few slip ups in the middle of the series, Wong Yat Wah, began to act well again towards the end. His fighting in this series was okay. The scenes in which he fought he looked very fluent and constant. Except at the beginning where he looked clumsy, but that was supposed to happen, because he had not mastered the kung fu taught to him yet. Wong Yat Wah also had his head saved to look the total part for this series.
