Sonic was born before Robotnik controlled the land. This occured when he was five, and resulted in the robotization of his Uncle Chuck and pet dog Muttsky. He was perhaps the last to join the Freedom Fighters, but possibly the most important. He is almost all blue, except for his arms and stomach which are peach. He has red shoes with a white strip down the middle of them, made by Uncle Chuck to resist his speed, and brown eyes. Sonic can curl into a ball and jump rather high, and is one of the few who can utilize the Power Rings.
And one of the fewer who can utilize the Chaos Emeralds...

Species: Part chipmunk, part squirrel
Sally, or Sal as Sonic often calls her, is the ruler of the free Mobius in absence of her father, King Acorn. She, too, was very young when Robotnik came to power. She is now 15 and quite intelligent for her age. She has a computer named Nicole, who is invaluable throughout the missions. Her fur is brown to light brown, and she has reddish-brown hair. Her eyes are blue, and she generally wears a blue vest, unzipped, and has blue boots.

Tails was lucky enough to not have experienced the first years of Robotnik's rule, before the Freedom Fighters, but unfortunatly it is all he has known through his life. Tails was quite unique in the fact that he was born with two tails, which he can use to fly with. Tails is Sonic's best bud and the two are rarely seen apart, they even go on missions together. Tails can use Power Rings and Chaos Emeralds, but not the latter with the effectiveness of Sonic or Knuckles. His biggest dream is to be an honarary Freedom Fighter like Sonic, and not be treated like such a child.

Title: Guardian of the Floating Island
Species: Echinda(I hate stating the obvious!)
Knuckles never knew about Robotnik until he tried to use his abilities and turn him against the Freedom Fighters. He was raised by his father on the Floating Island, long since risen and home to his friends, the Chaotix. He was original when he was born, like Tails, because he had something other echidnas did not-two sharp, yet broad knuckles protruding out of each hand. It probably had something to do with how they named him. :) His knuckles were very tough and he could use them to tunnel through solid rock. And his long dreadlocks gave him the ability to glide through air great distances. His father taught him how to fight and that he had to guard the Floating Island and it's Chaos Emerald. His father left him at a very early age, however, and Knuckles continues the search for him to this day. He also grew up with Sally, and the two may have been an item way back when...
Knuckles is solid red, except for the are around his mouth, which is peach, like Sonic. He wears white gloves, and his knuckles are very distinct to see. He also has a large white stripe around his chest, symbolizing the guardian of the Floating Island. He has green socks, and his shoes are red and yellow with a metal plate on the top, where the laces would be. He and Sonic got off on a rocky start and remain partial enemies, but if push comes to shove, they make a practically invincible team...

Species: Rabbit
Despite what many may believe, Bunnie was actually one of the last to join the Freedom Fighters. It happened when she was to be roboticized, but Sonic and the others stopped the process halfway, leaving Bunnie with robotic legs and a left arm to match. But this doesn't dampen Bunnie's spirit. She then joined the Freedom Fighters to get back at Robotnik.
She is normally seen wearing a pink garb, and she has light brown fur, with white around her mouth. If you get to see it, there is the poof of fur for her tail, too. Her right arm, body, and head all remain unroboticized. She has a southern accent, probably from southern Mobius. :)
Bunnie does want to be deroboticized, but not before the battle with Robotnik is finally won. She is aware her metallic appendages are very useful-they can do anything from super stretch, form an arm cannon(Like Mega Man!), and her robotic part give her powerful strength(Also like Mega Man!) Plus, Rotor is always making new enhancements for her. When robotnik is defeated, she wants to be Sally's hairdresser. The comics tend to indicate she has a relationship with Antione, but nothing is official....Yet.

Rotor was called by his nickname often in the early comics. But today, it is hardly ever used! Rotor was called to be on the Freedom Fighters for his technological skills-robots mainly. He rarely does first hand combat, but has been known to use all sortsa projectiles, like bazookas, for example.
Often referred to as 'Rote' by Sonic, Rotor normally wears a yellow cap backwards, has a military strap loosely placed across his shoulder that he never really uses, and has purple fur. His stomach and mouth are peach colored, and he has two bigs tusks.

Title: Captain of the Royal Guard
Species: Fox
When Antione was placed in control of the Royal Guard, he basically just got a 'become a Freedom Fighter' card. He had to protect Sally(Not that she really needs it), and since she was a Freedom Fighter, he pretty much had to stay remotely near most of the time. But, he fell in love with her, so I guess he liked becoming a Freedom Fighter.
Sonic commonly calls him 'Ant' just to get on his nerves, and the two like to compete for Sally's affections. But they keep it to a minimum and are friends, despite what we see.
Antione has a French accent, and has something many Freedom Fighters do not('Cept Sal)- hair! It is a blonde color, and sometimes it jumps a few inches off his head when he gets scared, making you wonder if its real. I think it is, thats just comic relief. Antoine also wears a royal blue vest with red shoulder pads and gold buttons. He has brown boots and a sword he rarely uses. As stated above, he and Bunnie may be together, but as of now they aren't saying anything.

Amy Rose is a spirited young lass. She loves to go flying with Dulcy, pick flowers, you know-stuff like that. She doesn't do a whole lotta fighting, and I doubt she is on the Freedom Fighters team. But she is still a friend to them. Plus she likes to stay in Knothole because she has a crush on Sonic!
Amy Rose is a red hedgehog, and her spines go forward, as opposed to Sonic's. She wears a white tank-top, and a frilly green and yellow skirt. Her hoes are red and yellow.

Dulcy came about to help the Freedom Fighters after Robotnik almost destroyed her home. Dulcy can fly, and she can breath both fire and ice, I hear.
Dulcy is green, with a yellow scaled underside. She has a long green tail, and two wings, the top green and the bottom pink. She has a ring in her nose, and blue eyes.
