The Zoo! |
Here are some of my favourite animals. Some of them have a symbolic meaning. The interpretations of the animals I have from the book "The Magical Lore of Animals", by Yvonne Aburrow. A great book! |
The Grassnake. Beautiful and elegant. It symbolizes in Christian biblography evil and the devil. |
This is the Elk. Here in Norway theese are fairly normal, this winter I met one on the way to school. They are called the kings of the forest and symbolizes supernatural powers in Native American traditions.. |
The Butterfly is also a beautiful creature. A free flying evidence of the "ugly duck" syndrom. It often symbolizes a free soul. It also represents rebirth and resurrection because of it's change from caterpillar to butterfly. |
The Hummingbird. This is the smallest bird alive, it's heart beats 300-400 times a minuite! |
The Panda. Unfortunately this animal is almost extinct today, there's only about 200 left. In China, the bear symbolizes a man. |
The Seaturtle is also very reare today. Theese amazing creatures can be up to 200 years old! |
The Camelion. The all-time master of disguise! This animal is tactical and puts on the colour of it's surroundings to easier get to it's favourite meal: insects. |
The Tiger. This is my favorite cat-animal. This big Cat lives in the southern Asia. It's symbolic meaning is ambivalent. It's both lunar and solar, a creator and destroyer. |
The Rabbit. One of the most commen totem-animals, it's also one of mine. It represents the vulnerable aspect of us. The bunny is always the victim, but escapes because of it's quick reactions. There are no doubt that the bunny was and is associated with Easter. |
The Owl. The always wise and clever bird. |
